CARMEL MOUNTAIN RANCH – Assemblymember Brian Maienschein recognized Café Luna as the “2021 Small Business of the Year” for the 77th Assembly District. Maienschein invited Jamie Wimmer, proprietor of Café Luna, to a ceremony in Sacramento honoring small businesses throughout California and the remarkable individuals that lead them.
Café Luna has been a staple in the Carmel Mountain Ranch community since 1991. The traditional Italian restaurant has serviced a myriad of customers, both for a dining-in experience and local event catering. Café Luna was named “San Diego’s Best Kept Secret” by San Diego Home & Garden readers, and has received recognition from local news stations and cuisine critics for their notable offerings.
“Café Luna exemplifies the outstanding businesses San Diego County’s food and beverage community has to offer,” said Assemblymember Maienschein. “I am pleased to honor Café Luna and the hardworking team behind the exceptional service they deliver.”
Jamie Wimmer, the proprietor of Café Luna, has been in the food service industry since she was a child. She previously worked for Café Luna in 1998, and has led the restaurant since 2015.
“Jamie Wimmer’s dedication to providing every guest with a memorable experience is part of what makes an evening at Café Luna unforgettable,” said Maienschein. “I am proud to have such an incredible individual and valuable small business in our community.”
