Sacramento, CA—Assemblymember Patel (D-San Diego County) honors Interfaith Community Services as the 2025 District 76 Non-Profit of the Year for their decades of service empowering vulnerable community members across North San Diego County.

Founded in 1979 through the partnership of fourteen local faith communities, Interfaith has grown into the region’s most comprehensive social services agency. It administers more than 75 programs that provide food, shelter, healthcare, employment services, and long-term support to individuals and families in crisis.

"Interfaith Community Services reflects the compassion, dignity, and sense of community that define our district," said Assemblymember Patel. “Whether it's emergency shelter, permanent housing, hot meals, or healthcare navigation, Interfaith meets urgent needs and helps people rebuild their lives. Their work is essential to alleviating poverty and empowering those in San Diego County to achieve stability and upward mobility. I am pleased to honor and celebrate Interfaith as District 76’s Non-Profit of the Year."

Interfaith’s mission is to empower those in need to stabilize and improve their lives. It achieves this through a continuum of care that includes supportive services, recovery and wellness programs, job training, short and long-term housing assistance, and much more. While Interfaith is a secular organization, its partnerships with diverse faith and civic groups strengthen its ability to achieve its goal of expanding access to food, safety, housing, and healthcare, breaking down systemic barriers, and supporting those in San Diego County on their path to independence.

“To be recognized by Assemblymember Patel as Nonprofit of the Year in our 45th year of service to the North San Diego County region is a profound honor. At Interfaith, we lead with courage and compassion, stepping into complex challenges such as poverty and homelessness with the belief that real solutions are possible when we work together. This recognition reflects the strength of our partnerships and the trust we’ve earned by being there, consistently providing critical resources to those facing some of life’s hardest moments. We’re grateful to the Assemblymember and to every partner who shares in our work and our mission,” said Greg Angela, CEO of Interfaith Community Services.
