On Dec. 2, it was an honor and privilege to be sworn in as your new representative in the California State Assembly.

As I stood on that green carpet for the first time, I thought of home, our community, and, more importantly, how best to support and represent the people within it. Surrounded by fellow lawmakers, I felt hopeful and determined that together, we will enact laws that reflect our shared values and address our community’s most urgent needs.
