Now accepting community nominations for AAPILC Heritage Month Honoree.
Every year, in honor of AAPI Heritage Month in May, the California AAPI Legislative Caucus introduces a resolution to recognize heritage month and hosts a floor ceremony to honor a number of AAPI individuals who have made an impact in our community.
As part of these celebrations, I would like to ask for your help with identifying AAPI individuals who live or work in the San Diego Region who have made an impact on our community. If you know such an individual, please take the time to submit a nomination using the form found at the bottom of this page.
The tentative date for the floor ceremony recognizing the AAPI Heritage Month honoree is Monday, May 12th in Sacramento.
Nominations from all sectors and industries are welcome and may include, but are not limited to:

Who can nominate?
Anyone can nominate and AAPI Individuals may nominate themselves.
Does the person have to live in the 76th Assembly District?
No, the applicant does not need to live in the district. We are accepting nominations for individuals who live and work throughout the San Diego region.
How many people can I nominate?
Please nominate as many names as you like, but submit a nomination form for each person. All fields below are required.
When will honorees be contacted?
Nominees will be reviewed and the selected honoree will be contacted by March 26th.
Is the Distinguished AAPILC Heritage Month Honoree's travel to Sacramento paid for?
The Distinguished AAPILC Honoree will be reimbursed for an economy seat for themselves and one guest to fly to and from Sacramento on the day of the ceremony. Due to budget constraints, overnight and meal expenses cannot be reimbursed.
Is attendance in Sacramento for the Assembly Floor recognition on May 12th required in order to receive the award?
Yes, attendance is required, we hope you can join us to receive this well-deserved recognition.
