DISTRICT OFFICE STAFF


Ross Pike, Field Representative (he/him/his)
Ross joined Team Patel in January 2025 after working as the Outreach and Engagement Manager and aRoss Pike certified mediator for the National Conflict Resolution Center in partnership with the San Diego District Attorney's Juvenile Diversion Initiative. He loves cow jokes as his family owned and operated a dairy farm for nearly 100 years in Michigan, where he grew up. Ross is also an elected Director with the North County Fire Protection District, an elected Member of the Fallbrook Planning Group, an Associate Director with the Mission Resource Conservation District, and a Board member of the North County Dispatch Joint Powers Authority. With a strong background in local government, Ross is our office's liaison with local government agencies. Ross also works as our office's constituent casework manager for state agencies including EDD and DMV. Ross is a graduate of the San Diego Regional Energy Academy and the San Diego Citizens Water Academy and also holds a Certificate in Fire District Leadership from the Fire Districts Association of California. In his limited free time, Ross enjoys going to the movies, cooking, and spoiling his niece and nephew.

Tracy Nguyen, Field Representative (she/her/hers)
Tracy joined Team Patel in May 2025 and is a recent graduate from UC San Diego, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. During her time in college, she became heavily involved with government through the UC Student Association as the ASUCSD Legislative Director, where she learned her passion for public service. Tracy has also previously interned at the Office of Assemblymember Ward and the Office of San Diego Councilmember Kent Lee, as well as with the SD API Coalition. She is a San Diego native, growing up in East County where she always enjoyed exploring San Diego County's best eats. In her free time, she enjoys trying out new coffee shops, supporting local performing arts shows, and trying out new recipes.

Gonzalo Rocha-Vazquez, Field Representative (he/him/his)
Gonzalo joined the office in January 2025. Prior to joining Team Patel, Gonzalo served as a DistrictGonzalo Rocha-Vazquez Representative in the Office of California State Senate President pro Tempore Toni Atkins. Gonzalo received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science: Comparative Politics and Latin American Studies from the University of California, San Diego. Gonzalo is a graduate of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s (CHCI) Virtual Leadership Program, the San Diego Leadership Alliance (SDLA) Institute, the Chicano Federation’s Leadership Training Institute (LTI), and LEAD San Diego’s IMPACT program. In his free time, he enjoys training Jiu Jitsu with his teammates.

Caleb Beaver, Legislative Director
Caleb joined Team Patel in January 2025 and is based in the Capitol office. He has over four years of polCaleb Beavericy experience in the California State Assembly, having previously served Assemblymember Chris Ward. Caleb’s work covers housing, labor, transportation, and education. He brings a strong understanding of Assembly Floor operations, local affordable housing development, and California's public higher education system. A proud graduate of the University of California, Davis and a Southern California native from the Inland Empire, Caleb is passionate about public service and advancing solution-oriented policies that uplift communities across the state. Outside of the Capitol, he enjoys long rides on his road bike and traveling.

Kristina Calderon, Senior Assistant/Scheduler (she/her/hers)
Kristina Calderon joined Team Patel in December 2024. Kristina is a seasoned public servant with overKristina Calderon seven years of experience at the California State Assembly. Her dedication to public service is driven by a deep commitment to uplifting marginalized communities. As a passionate advocate and ambassador for homeless women and children, as well as survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, Kristina brings heart and purpose to everything she does. Beyond her professional work, Kristina finds joy and grounding in her personal life-- she loves spending time at home, listening to music, and dancing with her family. Her ability to balance compassion, professionalism, and authenticity makes her a respected and inspiring presence in both the public sector and the communities she serves.

Eli Lanet, Legislative Aide
Eli joined Assemblymember Patel’s Capitol Team in January 2025 after serving as the Campaign Coordinator for Dr. Patel’s successful State Assembly campaign in 2024. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from UC Berkeley with a degree in Political Science. Beyond Patel's race, his campaign experience includes Adam Schiff’s Senatorial campaign, interning for a media consultant, and volunteering during multiple campaign cycles. During these races, he gained finance, political, media, and field experience. Eli's policy work is firmly rooted in rigorous research and writing. While at Berkeley, he gained valuable experience as a research assistant on a book project focused on economic inequality and the philosophical and practical dimensions of freedom in the United States. His senior thesis took an innovative approach to quantifying media reporting on specific issues and conducted correlational analyses on exit poll issue-area salience. Additionally, he was a staff writer for a nonprofit organization and the Berkeley Student Body President. In his free time, Eli enjoys writing, surfing, and exploring the diverse nature of California.
