Assemblymember Tasha Boerner Horvath

Assemblymember Tasha Boerner HorvathIf the last few weeks have felt like a whirlwind, this week was more like a Santa Ana with gail-force winds. We have met with dozens of constituents in Sacramento for their "lobby days", reviewed hundreds of bills in committees and on the Assembly floor, and presented four pieces of legislation in committees. We are thrilled that all four have passed out of committees, many of which were on a bipartisan vote. It is thrilling to see meaningful legislation for our district--from addressing the high cost of housing, to more equality for women, and increasing public safety in our rail corridor.

As with so many parents, my kids were on spring break this week and joined me at the Capitol. It is rewarding to show the next generation what the power of hard work, listening to our constituents, thoughtful leadership and a heart in the right place makes for the daily lives of every day Californians.
